Taxi Driver Has Been Picked Up For A Third Season
On April 15, 2023, the last episode of the second season of Taxi Driver came out. Soon after the show’s end, fans were pleasantly surprised when someone from SBS said that Taxi Driver Season 3 was coming soon.
The spokesperson told the news organization OSEN that the show had been picked up for another season. Fans shared how happy they were on social media as soon as the news came out. In fact, the producers started talking about a possible third season of Taxi Driver as soon as season 2 ended. It’s now clear that the third season was always going to happen. Besides this, the fans were also very important in getting the show renewed for a second season.
Season 2 of SBS’s Taxi Driver had the most views ever. The second season also beat the previous high set by the first season. Nielson Korea says that the graph of viewers gradually went up, with 12.8% of viewers watching the pilot episode.
However, the number of watchers grew by a factor of ten, with an average of 17.0% of viewers in Seoul during midseason. It wasn’t a surprise that the show broke all the records again by getting a 21.0% rating in the end, which was the highest rating ever for Taxi Driver.
Nielson Korea says that people from all walks of life have loved the show. Another record was broken by Real Has Come. This makes way for Taxi Driver Season 3. So, it’s easy to see why the network picked up the show for a third season right after the second one ended.
When Will Taxi Driver Season 3 Come Out?
As we already said, season 3 has just started filming. It’s not likely that the show will come back faster than planned. When it comes to the release date for Taxi Driver Season 3, the show was first supposed to come back in the fall of 2023. It never did happen, though. We’ll soon be able to watch the show because we know the star is ok. That means it will air sometime in the fall of 2024.

What Can We Expect From Season 3 Of Taxi Driver?
As the second season came to a close, Do-gi beat his biggest enemy and revealed the drug ring. He and his group will come back to work on more cases now that he is living. But the last time we saw him, Do-gi was dressed as a captain and ignoring Oh Mi-Seo from Moon Chae-won.
This makes me think that Season 3 of Taxi Driver will go into their past more. There’s no doubt that there’s something off about their relationship. This will be looked into more in the next season.
The drug ring has been found out, but the leader of the group is still probably out there somewhere. So, it will make things worse for Do-gi because many killers are after him. He also faked his own death in the ending. Now that he is living, it will in fact get the attention of the mastermind. Besides this, Taxi Driver mostly deals with individual cases. Taxi Driver Season 3 Cast List
Lee Je-Hoon is an important part of Taxi Driver, so he will definitely come back to play Kim Do-gi again. Several times, he has made it sound like he might be coming back as the captain of the 707th Special Mission Group.
But the network hasn’t said who else will be back for the next season yet. But it’s certain that everyone from Rainbow Taxi will come back. Jang Hyuk-jin plays Choi Kyung-goo, Kim Eui-sung plays Jang Sung-chul, Pyo Ye-jin plays Ahn Go-eun, and Bae Yoo-ram plays Park Jin-eon.
Too bad Esom won’t be back as Kang Ha-na because she wasn’t in season 2. That means she probably won’t be back for Season 3 of Taxi Driver either. It’s not likely that Shin Jae-ha will come back as On Ha-Jun/Kim Dan-woo. That’s because his name and evil side were shown in the previous season. Still, anything could happen. There may also be new cab drivers and a well-known bad guy on the show.
